Student Materials: Students are responsible for their class materials. Some materials have been provided for your students, and others are available if necessary in our classroom. Please make sure your student has his or her homework folder, student agenda, and a pencil each day they are in school for in-person instruction.
Student Absences: Throughout the year, there will be times that your child may get sick, need to go to the doctor, etc. If your child is going to be absent, please be sure to contact the office. If you request to pick up work when your student is absent, please email us or call the school before 10:30AM.
Homework: Each student has received a homework agenda and is responsible for writing down homework assignments in his/her agenda each day. Please check this agenda for assigned homework. Students will be expected to complete and turn in homework. Homework reflects the lessons taught during the day and is used to reinforce the learning that we do! All homework should be completed neatly and handed in when it is due. Homework completion will be tracked and students will be rewarded after completing a certain number of assignments.
Water Bottles: Students may have one water bottle on their desk throughout the day. Please, no glass bottles. If the water bottle becomes a distraction, it will be placed in a designated water bottle basket located within the classroom. There is also a water fountain in the classroom that students may drink from.
Birthdays: Birthdays are a time to celebrate! However, as a class we will strive to be considerate of our peers at all times. Due to food allergies, non-food items such as pencils, erasers, etc. are encouraged if a student would like to bring in a birthday treat. Students with summer birthdays may want to celebrate their “half birthday” (ex. A student with an August birthday may celebrate in February), or during the last two weeks of the school year. Should a student want to bring an edible birthday treat, please contact us regarding what types of food are most inclusive for our students. Thank you!
Behavior: One of the best parts of being in a classroom is having fun and celebrating our wonderful work and behavior! To be able to do this, every student should feel comfortable, happy, and cared for in our classroom. We want each student to reach his or her highest potential and will work our hardest to make sure that happens. In order to ensure a well-managed classroom, we will have multiple management systems in place.
